Fort Worth Information

Looking for apartments in Fort Worth, TX?

Fort Worth, Texas, is known as the city of "cowboys and culture." Its storied history along the Chisholm trail has earned it the nickname "Cowtown."

According to the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth is now the "fastest growing of the nation's 20 largest cities" and has been recognized as "one of the most livable cities in the country." CNBC recently placed Fort Worth number four in its list of "Best Cities to Relocate to in America" with low housing costs and low unemployment.

The Old West still echoes along the brick streets of the Historic Stockyards, with its restored storefronts and working cattle pens. Each morning in the Stockyards, visitors are treated to a live cattle drive, when a small herd of Texas longhorn are rounded up from their corrals and driven down Exchange Avenue by cowboys on horseback. The Stockyards hosts rodeos and western events, including the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, the country's oldest livestock show and indoor rodeo. Other western attractions include the Tarantula Train, White Elephant Saloon, Stockyards Station, and the Cowtown Coliseum.

It's hard to imagine cows with culture, but it happens here. Fort Worth's Cultural District includes the Amon Carter Museum, Cattle Raisers Museum, Kimbell Art Museum, The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, Modern Art Museum, and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, hosting 1 million visitors annually, opened a brand new $80 million facility designed by internationally acclaimed architectural firm Legorreta+Legorreta. Exhibits include DinoLabs, Paluxysaurus jonesi, the "official dinosaur of Texas," the Noble Planetarium, the Fort Worth Children's Museum, Innovation Studios, and the Omni Imax Theater.

Texas Motor Speedway, a massive motorsports venue located near Alliance Airport, is a 1.5-mile NASCAR and IndyCar racetrack featuring 200,000 seats and 200 luxury skyboxes. This is an area large enough to hold four Cowboys Stadiums within it. The track hosts a variety of racing events, including NASCAR Winston Cup, Busch, Craftsman Truck and Indy Racing League dates, racing schools and auto shows. In addition to 200 MPH entertainment, there are luxury condos and the Speedway Club, equipped with a health club and five-star dining.
